Lots to recap from the weekend.
Friday breakfast:
Friday lunch (veggie buffalo nuggets):
For a workout, I did 25 mins on the treadmill and then 20 mins of a weight lifting circuit. I LOVE to lift weights on Fridays. It gives my body all weekend to recoup.
Friday dinner... Kramer went krazy for bacon. He got in to these bacon bits and ate half before we caught him. He's got a major Bacon Crush!!
Dinner was fantastic. Salmon w/ orange fennel sauce, brussel sprouts w/ mustard sauce & bacon bits and finally a potato/parsnip mix:
We haven't had a good meal at home in a while so Mikey did it up. This is my favorite way to spend Friday nights!
Saturday breakfast was yogurt, granola & p.b.:
I took Anna out on a 45 minute walk in the freezing weather. Time to pull out the dog booties. Her clydes dale feet were getting packed with little ice balls.
Lunch was a salt bomb... feta & summer sausage sandwich with leftover potatoes/parsnips. I don't recommend the feta-sausage combination (I was sick the rest of the day):
Dinner was Chai Black tea, a pear
and more potatoes/parsnips:
I also had a handful of chips and some mint tea (not together) to try to calm my belly:
Notice no wine on Saturday night! I was so proud of myself. It helped that I didn't feel the best. I really need to consume less wine (wine=empty calories). I spent most of the day cleaning and doing my accounting homework while Mikey was at work.
I woke up Sunday feeling better.
Mike and I split a couple pieces of toast for breakfast:
I pulled 2 bags of apples out of the freezer and got them baking by 10:30am:
They baked all day in a 200 degree oven in to these beauties:
While Mikey cooked during the afternoon, I did a little decorating. In lieu of a tree this year and the fact that we didn't get our Cmas stuff outside before the weather turned frigid, I decided to put our "outside trees" inside this year.
I had a very curious helper of course:
We had Nikki & Henry over for dinner to celebrate mine (Dec 13th) and Henry's (Dec 11th) birthdays. Mike made a spinach salad with a bacon vinaigrette. There was some Chevre cheese, craisins, oranges & bacon bits as well. Kramer was banned from the kitchen while the bacon cooked!
Our festive table! Mikey also got some dried flowers from a local gardener for a centerpiece.
Nikki & Henry brought over the wine:
Dinner was Chicken, Sausage & Shrimp Gumbo! Totally delish!
The green charger plates are from N&H's wedding!
Dessert was almond shortbread & dark chocolate courtesy of N&H:
They gave me this for my birthday:
We always think it's so funny when our blogger friend Jenna only eats ONE! Seriously?!
