One thing to add from yesterday. We had such a lovely evening at home. We ate popcorn and reminisced through old pictures of our travels. Mikey pulled the tote of pics out of the attic and we reminisced for 3 hours. Makes us both have the travel bug!
Now for today...we got on a roll. It started with a goal of clearing off the dining room table. It turned into 5 hours of organizing! Mikey saw another doctor this morning and they still don't know what is wrong with his belly. Poor guy! He's in such pain and there is nothing they can do for him yet.
We fueled up with a good breakfast:
We split: 2 containers of yogurt (Oikos honey greek yogurt & Blue Bunny blueberry Acai yogurt), a banana & a homemade granola bar between 2 bowls. Of course there was the daily cup of coffee. Nellie dropped off the book club selection during breakfast. I'm looking forward to reading it. It's told from the viewpoint of a dog.
Then, it was time to de-clutter. We have a pretty organized house but there was still some stuff to pick through. We had the whole family helping out:
We'll be donating all of these to either a local used book store or the book exchange at UMD:
It feels SO GOOD to part with textbooks that we've been holding on to "just in case"...
Our bookcase went from overflowing to this:
I'm planning to stain the bookcase an espresso color to modernize it. It'll be a winter break project. We also sorted through our piles of papers in the office. I bet we recycled 1000 pieces of paper today! I worked up a sweat today moving things around the house while Mikey chilled on the couch. I had a granola bar & some tea for a snack.
For dinner, we had a gift certificate for the Brewhouse, so we ordered takeout. We both got Wild Rice Burgers and fries (regular fries for Mikey; sweet potato fries for me). I enjoyed another Summit IPA with my burger while Mikey had 7UP. You know he's not feeling well when he doesn't have a beer with me!
Then, this evening I did some hand sewing. I really would love to get a used sewing machine. I sewed a button on Mikey's cord pants and added 2 belt loops to my jeans. Seriously, who designs jeans with no belt loop in the back?!
Now, I'm just chillin' with a glass of:
Thanks to Nikki & Henry for the nice gift certificate to Last Chance Liquor! Sippin' on wine while Willie Nelson plays on Austin City Limits. So glad we got to see him perform live at Midway Stadium a couple years ago.
Btw... there are 5 "watchers" looking at my Dansko shoes I posted on eBay. Lets hope they come through closer to the deadline.
