Before I unveil my big blog experiment, I thought I'd share a pasta dish Mikey made this week. It's a squash, spinach & mushroom pasta with a sage & rosemary cream sauce:
As Mikey says "there's no meat calories in this so you can justify the cream calories." It was quite good. I shared the leftovers with my coworkers and even the biggest squash haters said it was delish.
Now, for my big experiment...
I read a handful of healthy food blogs every day and find daily inspiration in them. I had set a goal at the beginning of November to lose 10 pounds by Christmas. So, I've been working out diligently and watching my portion sizes. Nikki challenged me yesterday to be like Kath, Tina & Jenna (my favorites) and be a food blogger for a month. So, I'll be posting pictures of everything I eat from now until Christmas as well as my workouts. I'm doing this for myself to keep myself accountable. I'll post a self portrait once a week to show my progress.
Here's the start of Day 1:
Peanut butter on a leftover baguette, a banana & 2 cups of black Chai tea with a smidge of coffee creamer.
I've nibbled on a handful of blue tortilla chips this afternoon and that's it so far.
Now, for the daring part... some photos of my starting point:
There are exactly 6 weeks until Christmas Eve. I know it won't be easy but it'll be worth it.
