We had the BEST Halloween EVER! It all started with some hype at work on Friday... 3 of my favorite work peeps:
I love my job and the people I get to work with!
Then, it was time to head home and meet Sarah who is visiting from Montana. We met up with Nikki & Henry at Zeitgeist Arts Cafe downtown. I love the decor and vibe of this place:
Nikki had the Nicoise Salad:
Henry had the Whitefish Sandwich with fries (Sarah had the same sandwich with veggies):
I had the Vegan Red Lion sandwich with veggies:
Then, it was off to Blackwater Lounge for a cocktail. This is what Henry ended up doing most of the night:
He was the camera man for many photos like this one:
Love these girls! Thanks for a fun time Nikki, Sarah & Henry!
Saturday was spent getting ready for the big night. We ended up getting ~40 tricksters early in the evening. Thank goodness Sarah brought candy with her! We went through the 3 tote boxes of costumes that Sarah brought up (thank you!) and came up with these costumes:
You should know that Sarah's "leotard" was from like a 3rd grade dance recital! The powers of Spandex! We started the evening off at Bruce & Nellie's house. They were adorable:
Nellie had doughnuts & apples to hand out and Bruce had some battery powered speakers to play "yakity sacs" on. They had the best costumes of the night!
More of me as a Pioneer Woman:
Sarah and I also put together a costume for Mikey. He joined us downtown after working that night. He was suppose to be a Superhero but when I couldn't find his ski goggles, I improvised with his chemistry lab goggles from college. He would now be "Captain Chemistry". The red cape is my skirt from Kim & Dan's wedding. We made Mikey a "Captain Chemistry" badge for his shirt in the shape of a carbon-hydrogen molecule... complete with alternating double bonds! He also wore his long underwear with red socks pulled up to his knees. He LOVED it!!
Here's the 13th Ave gang (Bruce and Nellie are our neighbors just up the street):

My co-workers... I WILL get them to dress up next year!

The picture labeled Mikey & his work buddies - the one guy with the colors, dark curly hair, he looks a lot like Oates from Hall & Oates, back in the day! Check it out if you get a chance.
