It felt great to sleep in today! I got up at 9:45 and fueled up with coffee and a granola bar:
Then Annie and I headed out for a hike along Chester Creek. Mikey is still under the weather, so he stayed home and gave Kramer a spa treatment. I think I wore Annie out today. She claimed this spot on the couch during the Vikings game:
I was pretty hungry for lunch when I got back from the hike. Damn the hills of Chester Creek! More squash pasta leftovers:
We did some cleaning during the Vikes game. It was nice and sunny today. Perfect for airing out our rugs. Mikey also fixed our dehumidifier. Who knew our dehumidifier had a filter?! All I can say is Yuck! (We've had the thing since we've moved in... if you can imagine the grossness).
We started some pizza dough during half time of the Vikings game. 'Round 5:30 we decided to start dinner. Mikey made sausage and pineapple pizza- our favorite! While Mikey cooked, I prepped some veggies for my lunches this week. I, of course, used the "hand me down" knife which is still a great knife (Wustof). Mikey couldn't help himself while watching me painfullly chop the red onion so he took over. This may have been my plan all along:) Here's our "spread" of knives used tonight:
I still love using a classic wood cutting board. We got ours at the Uptown Art Fair. Mikey likes to use a plastic cutting board that can be changed out.
Now, for the cookin'...
Caramelized onions:
Ground turkey, red sauce, caramelized onions, pineapple, provolone & mozzarella. We may have had a small tift in the store about whether to have "healthy sausage" or the real deal. In the end, we seasoned ground turkey with sausage seasoning.
We borrowed the sliced cheese idea from VIP:
Ready for the oven:
The best part about adding pineapple to pizza is the juice! I enjoyed this while the pizza baked:
Beautimus:
Perfectly golden:
Kramer supervised... he's actually pretty darn cute here:
I also enjoyed a glass of Cline Cashmere wine.
Cheers to a good weekend!
